Catching Up

Well it's been a busy few months and I've neglected to update the blog on anything new! Still trying to get the hang of this .... lol. The Studio finished it's updates on the grafitti wall along with many new backdrops and the wood floor. Check us out on facebook! Sabrina is one of our Senior Models whose been getting plenty of photos taken! She also just went to her Junior prom. Aidan is due in for new photos as well as Caleigh. Gabi and Staci are also due in for Senior Model shots.

We've been shooting Easter pics with live bunnies and we also did several communion portraits. Baseball and Wedding season is upon us ..... shooting Logan's baseball photos on Tuesday.

Now it's time to get the outside Gardens cleaned up for Spring Portraits, I'm also planning on a new brick wall outside for our Seniors and Families. The large pond is filled with fish for some of our fishing scenes! and if you're quiet enough you can see the frogs too.

Baby Caleigh

Well she finally made her arrival - Caleigh Rose Gouse arrived at 12:23 am on Feb. 2nd. Manda had a long day of labor while staying at 3cm for most of the day ..... when told she had "hours" to go we all went home, 2 1/2 hours later Caleigh arrived weighing in at 7lbs. 14oz, 20 1/4 inches long. Manda and Scott will be bringing her home tomorrow (Thursday) to get her settled in. She's a bit of a sleeper and not fond of the cold (that really gets her crying!) I have a few photos of her taken at the hospital, the photo shoot won't be til next week ......

We finally got the wood floor in and are still making some renovations - moving furniture, cabinets, photos and displays, hopefully it will all be finished in time for our Ladies Night Out on the 9th of February. (feel free to contact us if you'd like to attend). Really looking forward to a fun night with the Ladies ........ well that's it for now as I'm pretty beat from all the chaos around here. I had to take the dog in for surgery as well, ahhh life.

Studio Stuff

Well, I finally figured out how to log back onto this blog and give it the update it needs, hopefully after this I can update a little more regularly. Studio wise we've been busy painting walls, buying new backdrops, putting together a Graffitti wall (that took a lot longer than expected). We now have a red wall with a new "corner" look, the HS SENIOR wall (graffitti), finally got rid of all the green walls, did a paint splattered wood ladder for our seniors & kids, added in some bold colored chairs, and did a gold column - Sabrina will be finishing them off tomorrow and Friday.

Russ has promised the wood floor to be worked on this weekend - so we will close Friday through Monday and reopen Tuesday with the new floor (keeping my fingers crossed!) So, lots of new looks to work with this year - and we haven't even started the outside updates yet! We'll get to those later. Another fun new idea is our Ladies Night Out that will be on Feb. 2nd. We have Cedarvale Winery bringing wine samples, Barb from Tastefully Simple, Julie with Partylite Candles and we're still working on a rep from one of the make up companies. $15 includes a short photo shoot (in one of 3 backgrounds), a 5x7 photo, cheese n crackers and some wine ....... if you're interested give us a call (or email) we still have a few spaces left!

On a personal note we are still waiting for baby Caleigh or Chase to arrive, mom Amanda is getting anxious for the little one to make an appearance (so are the rest of us), should be any day now! My truck has been out of commission for over 3 weeks but finally got repaired and returned to the roost yesterday - so today I'm off to run errands in it. So far the family has only had some mild colds (with a little help from Aidan - our two year old grandson) ....... hoping it stays that way. I'm hoping to get to the slopes again in the next week or two - so if you call on a Wednesday or Friday and we don't answer - that could be why ....... Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. Wendy

The New Year

Hello all,
I hope I finally have this figured out, that is this blogging thing, always something new to learn and I guess I'm learning. Since this is the beginning I'll introduce myself - I'm Wendy - the owner. I'm married to Russ and have 3 daughters - (Nicole, Amanda & Sabrina), 1 son-in-law (Josh), 1 grandson (Aidan), my daughter's boyfriend (Scott) and another grand baby on the way (don't know yet - Caleigh or Chase). The studio is located in the basement and backyards of our home. Oh, and 2 dogs, 5 cats, 1 chinchilla, numerous rabbits and fish ..... what a family!

Shirley works here 3-5 days a week depending on the season and need. She is also married (to Bill) with 2 sons (Jason and Michael) and 1 grandaughter (Kali). She has an indoor bunny (sorry, forget his name, lol) and a large outdoor pond with several koi. We both live here in Logan Township. Shirley also works for the school system as a crossing guard.

My daughters also work (when needed) at the studio. So, on this blog you will here about work, the studio and families ......

Well the studio is doing it's best to keep up with the times - we are doing some upgrading in the portrait room ..... a new wood floor, a graffiti wall that is in progress, lots of new fabrics for backdrops and some freshening up with paint on some of our props. As soon as we get some of it complete we'll post some photos here, on our website and our facebook pages. Looking at a few new seminars for great new ideas!!

On the personal front, we're all awaiting Amanda and Scott's baby arrival. We have started the baby pool and I picked the 24th of Jan, Amanda's dad's birthday ....... we'll see, I'm sure she hopes I'm right cause I picked the earliest date, lol. The due date is Jan. 30th, soon maternity pics, then newborn ....... Shirley just got back from SC for Christmas with Jason and family, I'm off to ski this Friday and hopefully again the 4th weekend of Jan.
